ML&P Requests Entitlements to Pulelehua

Maui Land & Pineapple Co. presented formal requests to Maui County Council members Wednesday for the entitlements the company needs to build the Pulelehua housing development in Mahinahina.

ML&P officials detailed development plans to the council’s Land Use Committee for the $300 million, 1,200-unit housing development on 310 acres in West Maui. The development also includes a commercial area, an elementary school, trails, woods and two parks.

The company is seeking three bills that would allow the project to begin construction in three years, said Ryan Churchill, ML&P president and chief operating officer.

And half of Pulelehua’s housing would be made available at affordable housing prices, he said.
