As we see in first pictures, this week additional equipment has been placed at the site of the proposed malls, likely indicating the construction is moving forward.

This Tuesday’s (6/19) the public community KCA meeting at 6:30 PM at the Charter School 41 E Lipoa will examine the proposed Pi’ilani Promenade/Outlet Mall proposed  mauka Pi’ilani Highway in No Kihei.  

KCA has invited representatives of the developer, Eclipse Development Group of Irvine, CA,, to speak to the community, as well as a spokesperson for prior land owner, Kaonoulu Ranch, but has no confirmation at deadline. Confirmed are Mark Hyde, of South Maui Citizens for Responsible Growth, former County Planning Director Mike Foley, past president of Maui’s Water Board, Michael Howden and Victoria Huffman, P.E., a well experienced traffic engineer.  Doors open at 6:00 PM for talk story and pupu. KCA encourages all attendees to bring non perishable food donations for the ongoing Maui Food Bank drive.

 Please note the change of schedule time & location for the July meeting, as KCA makai (Kihei) will partner with KCA mauka, (Kula), as well as Maui News and Akaku Community Television for a  primary election forum at the Akaku studios in Kahului on 7/24/12.
