I am still upset about the vote of the council on the RGB for Anuhea Place. The word was that the vote went against RGB for Kula 200 and Kula Glen as a majority of property owners in those neighborhoods were against the RGB and the council voted for the RGB for Anuhea because a majority of property owners in that neighborhood were for it. This is so false. Anuhea is composed of 15 lots ranging from 5-9+ acres. Nine of the lot owners were against the RGB and 6 were for it. Five of those 6 are members of the church, Hale O Kaula (Church of the Living Word or The Walk), which is located in our neighborhood. Nine against and six for would mean the Council should have voted against the RGB for our neighborhood. The only Councilperson who voted against it was Elle Cochran. She also took time out of her Saturday to check out the situation in our neighborhood. Wil Spence, the Planning Director and member of Hale O Kaula spent much time pushing for this. The Council had documents signed by all nine property owners who were against the RGB and oral testimony from some. We cannot compete against a church who rallies their members to go against the good of our community. We are honest hardworking citizens who farm our land. The facts were there and the Council with the urging of the Planning Director chose to ignore them.
