HECO Asks PUC NOT to Extend First Wind’s Deadline

Hawaiian Electric Co. has advised the Public Utilities Commission against extending an eight-month deadline to Boston-based First Wind to secure land needed to build a 200-megawatt wind farm on Molokai.  Read more at Pacific Business News.

Superferry Bill Appears Dead

The Ferry bill was not heard by the Senate Ways and Means Committee prior to the Committee transmitting its completed budget package on Tuesday 4/6/20110. This means the measure is dead unless attached to some other bill.

Statewide Pedestrian Master Plan

PATH Bring Court Case to Open Haleakala Trail

Public Access Trails Hawai’i (PATH) filed suit in January to force the State to take control of the Haleakala Trail and reopen it.  According to PATH: Haleakala Trail, which runs from the top of Olinda to the Haleakala crater rim across lands owned by Haleakala Ranch and the National Park.

Council Delays Maui Island Plan Until December
