PRESIDENT – Michael L. Williams
Lives with his wife Linda Love on a farm in Kula which they bought in 2014.  They live on Maui full time now, and grow fruit, flowers, and organic, hydroponic greenhouse tomatoes.  He and Linda visited Maui on average about twice a year since 1984.  They have four children and two grandchildren in Oregon. Mike is a nearly-retired lawyer.   He studied philosophy at UC Berkeley before graduating magna cum laude from Harvard Law School in 1978, where he founded the Harvard Environmental Law Review. For 38 years he was a plaintiffs’ trial lawyer in Oregon, where he represented thousands of people injured by dangerous and defective medical devices and drugs.  He has sued and conducted discovery of nearly every large pharmaceutical company at one time or another, in federal and state courts all over the country. He specialized in the science of the cases, recruiting experts for the plaintiffs, and cross-examining the experts for the drug companies.  He served as president of the Oregon Trial Lawyers and received their distinguished trial lawyer award.

VICE PRESIDENT –  Lucienne de Naie
Lucienne de Naie is a policy analyst, grant writer and historical researcher. She has lived on a small East Maui farm for over 30 years and serves on many local non-profit boards. Lucienne is a frequent presenter on historical and water resource issues and is author of a report on Maui’s water resources (2005) and a book on the history of the Makena region (2007). Lucienne has served on a number of citizen planning committees including: Maui County General Plan Advisory Committee, Focus Maui Nu Advisory Committee, Mayor Apana’s Open Space Ordinance Advisory Committee, Maui County Impact Fee Advisory Committee, Paia Relief Route Advisory Group and the Honoapiilani Hwy Realignment Task Force.

TREASURER – Trip Lynch
Married on Maui in the late 1990’s and a frequent visitor since, Trip and his wife made Upcountry their permanent home in 2006 after the youngest of their 6 children headed off to college. Now a highly regarded marketing consultant, Trip has run successful international businesses based in Europe, Asia, and on the mainland. Passionate about surfing, art, and real estate, Trip and Deb are keenly aware of Maui’s fragile environment. They are dedicated to preserving Maui’s pristine near shore waters and vast Upcountry vistas for tomorrow’s generations to enjoy as much as they do today.

SECRETARY – Maury King
Serves as Secretary, Sustainable Agriculture Committee and Volunteer Coordinator. Living on Maui since 2006 he has made an effort to learn about issues important to Maui’s future. This has led to co-founding South Maui Sustainability, a term as Board Member at the Kihei Community Association, founder of the South Maui Bicycle Coalition and member of the DIRE Coalition, working to phase out the injection wells. There is always time for strolling with toes in the water along South Maui’s wonderful beaches.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR- Albert Perez
Perez, who was born and raised in Hawaii, earned a Master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and has extensive experience in Geographic Information Systems. A founding member of Maui Tomorrow, Perez has worked at the State of Hawaii Office of Coastal Zone Management, the Washington State Department of Transportation, and the County of Maui.

Mike Foley
Mike has served on the Maui Tomorow Board of Directors for 14 years. Before moving to Maui 19 years ago, Mike worked as an environmental consultant and as the Planning Director for the Northern California cities of Sausalito, Davis, Woodside and Napa. Mike served 4 years as the Planning Director of Maui County and taught Geography classes at Maui College before retiring six years ago. Mike is also on the Maui Council of the Hawaiian Islands Land Trust. He has an AA degree in Architecture, a BA in Urban Geography and a Masters Degree in Community Planning/Urban Design. Mike lived in Napili, Lahaina, and Makawao before moving to South Kihei with his wife Susan and 2 Boxers.

Mark Sheehan
Ph.D. Education, real estate broker specializing in sustainable properties, is a dynamic presence in Maui’s environmental community: past president of Makawao Community Association; board member of Maui Open Space Trust and State Park at Makena; board member of the Montessori School, Maui and of Haleakala Waldorf School.

Tara Grace
Tara has lived on Maui since 1978, raising her family of four children and now grandchildren. While working with various organizations over the past four decades, Tara developed her grassroots spirit and cultivated a vast network of her greater ‘ohana. Tara continues to support important causes, movements, and community activism on Maui. Working in real estate for the past 14 years, Tara specializes in the sustainable lifestyle on Maui’s north shore.

Bill Greenleaf
Founded Greenleaf Farm with his wife Marta in 2004. Founded Maui Farmers Union with Vincent Mina, Evan Ryan and Glen Martinez.
Has served as or is serving as: Maui Farmers Union Treasurer, HFUU State Treasurer, HFUU Haleakala Chapter President, Ag Working Group member, FACE Board Career as Golf Professional, 46 year member of the PGA of America, one of 200 Master Professionals in USA.

Susan Teton Campbell
As a seasoned environmentalist in the areas of local and national food programs, policies and climate change, Susan joins the BOD for Maui Tomorrow to help preserve Maui, the place she has called home for 12 years. Susan, who served on the BOD of the Hawaii Farmers Union since inception in 2012, recognizes the need for thoughtful planning that fosters an infrastructure to support sustainable agriculture, clean energy and affordable housing. Her inspiration comes from her love for Maui, nature and what is right relationship with the ʻāina. In 2017 Susan Published “Eating As A Spiritual Practice”.

Michael Duberstein
This is Michael’s second stint on the Maui Tomorrow board. In 2006, as an advisor to the Superferry trial team, he compiled an analysis of public scoping requirements as part of environmental impact studies for ferry systems in the U.S. and in foreign nations. Michael joined the Board in 2007 and worked on a study of green job opportunities on Maui and was a contributor to MT’s initial Akaku television show. He has lived in Kihei since 2005, and within months of arriving began a weekly kuleana maintaining the South Maui Heritage Trail and became a member of the Kalama Park Action Team. In 2007 Michael joined the Akaku Board, and starting the next year, was District Eleven (South Maui) Chair of the Hawai’i Democratic Party. He also served on the boards of the Maui Group of the Sierra Club of Hawai’i and Art Maui.
