DeGray Vanderbilt to Moloka’i Planning Commission?

Mayor Arakawa has nominated Oliver “DeGray” Vanderbilt to fill the one empty seat on the Moloka’i Planning Commission.  Although DeGray has many supporters who have written in favor of his nomination, two Moloka’i residents have made charges that he is not friendly enough to business and developers.

One of the complainants is Dr. John Corboy, on the Board of Directors of the right wing, “Grassroot Institute of Hawaii” whose mission  “is to promote individual liberty, the free market and limited accountable government.”

Another opponent of Vanderbilt’s appointment is Lisa Foster, a Molokai real estate agent.
